Where You Can Open Your Mind
It is said that 90% of our behaviour is totally unconscious. This 90% includes all of those things you do well AND all of those habits and behaviours of which you are not so proud. These behaviours run on automatic pilot and are referred to as Unconscious Processes.
Memories and events from our past are connected together and form an expectation of how we will behave (or feel) in a future situation. Mostly, this system works well and enables us to live our lives without having to be consciously aware of everything in our environment. However, there are times when, as children, we jump to a false conclusion purely because our cognitive functions (thinking abilities) are not fully formed until around the age of twelve.
These 'premature evaluations' colour and affect our whole experience of life even though, as adults, we may have no awareness what-so-ever of these initial ‘colouring’ events ,,, and they can be the root cause of many presenting issues.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy aims to identify these unconscious processes and recode their meaning.
Reviewing past experiences with the knowledge and perspective of an adult not only recodes the initial memory - it also recodes all the other memories that are connected to the first. It's similar to using the 'Format' tool to reformat every page of a document instead of having to reformat every single page one at a time.
