The vast majority of people who want to loose weight either fail or they reach their target only to put back even more than they lost. Why?
Weight control is a lot like giving up smoking in-as-much as the key to success in both cases is to be prepared for and to win the phycological battle. Changing your diet is crucial but even more so is to understand your current relationship with food and your subconscious belief(s) in this area. If you're overweight and miserable then it's no good being slim and misersable is it?
Imagine, if you can, a 9 or 10 year old child that's been sent to her room without any supper for being naughty. There she sits, in her room, alone, feeling angry, upset, rejected AND hungry. At this age the young mind cannot differentiate between these feelings. All she know is that she feels 'bad'.
Two hours later her mother feels guilty and takes her a tray. Can you see the sort of associations the young mind might make? Food means mummy loves me. Food makes my bad feelings go away. Whenever I feel upset I know I'll feel better if I eat.
Loosing weight without changing these neural associations means the weight will be put back and, in most cases, more weight than was lost. Have you seen a 'Slimmer of the Year' 3 or 4 years later?
A Cognitive Training Seminar has been designed to explain how our beliefs are created, why we behave the way we do and how we can easily change. In many cases this seminar is all that's needed for a client to create positive change in many areas of their life (not just weight control) because they now have an understanding of human behaviour and how to best use this knowledge. Taking control of you mind means making better decisions
Alternatively, you can forego the seminar and work with me solely on a one-to-one basis at the normal rate of £40 per session. The choice is yours..
