NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

NLP - referred to by some as "Software for the Brain" and others as "The Technology of Achievement", it is described by Science Digest as "the most powerful vehicle for change in existence."

NLP explores the relationship between how we think (neuro), how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally
(Linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programmes).

Much of the early NLP was based on the work of Virginia Satir, a family therapist; Fritz Perls, founder of Gestalt therapy;  Gregory Bateson, anthropologist; and Milton Erickson, the most influential hypnotist of the 20th century. It was Erickson’s work that formed the foundation for a lot of NLP, thus the close relationship with hypnosis.

Doing something badly, consistently, is not an accident it's a process and so it can be identified and interrupted or changed to prevent the unwanted behaviour from reoccurring.

Although some NLP techniques may appear quite simple - e.g. swapping two pictures around in your mind's eye - they are very powerful indeed as they work directly on the unconscious mind
